Michaela Lohde-Sauer has a solid education and extensive experience in the real estate industry – since 2020, she is representing the KENSINGTON brand as a franchisee in the south-east of the Spanish Balearic island Mallorca.
Michaela Lohde-Sauer graduated in real estate management and thus has an economic and legal background in the real estate sector, which is complemented by knowledge in construction as well as in the areas of property management and project development.
The passionate real estate expert has almost 20 years of experience in the real estate sector and, prior to her emigration to Mallorca in 2019 she had already spent many years working successfully as a real estate agent for well-known competitors in Germany.
In 2020, the mother of two realised a long-held dream and ventured into self-employment by acquiring the KENSINGTON licence for the south-eastern region of Mallorca: “Since I was young, my goal was to at some point become self-employed and build and manage my own business, preferably before my 40th birthday. I have achieved this goal, and that even at what I consider the most beautiful workplace in the world, where you can enjoy an optimal work-life balance.”
But how did the 42-year-old become aware of KENSINGTON?
“Even before we moved to the island, my husband and I had already studied the market leaders in this sector on the island. It was rather by chance that I got my hands on an OnLocation magazine, which excited me immediately. As it turned out, it was the most fortuitous thing that could have happened to me in my professional career,” says Lohde-Sauer.
After further research into suitable franchisors and several meetings, the decision was quickly made for the young businesswoman: “In a highly competitive market like the one on Mallorca, a strong brand is absolutely essential. After intensive discussions, especially with the CEO Mehrdad Bonakdar, it quickly became clear to me that there was no alternative to KENSINGTON in this industry. The company philosophy includes a perfect combination of entrepreneurial freedom and support for the franchisees. This fact, coupled with the impeccable reputation of the brand and a large international network, reinforced my decision to live my dream by becoming a franchisee of the KENSINGTON Group.”
Success has proven her right. In the meantime, the ambitious entrepreneur is the proud owner of another KENSINGTON licence in her hometown of Magdeburg. “In Magdeburg, I have benefited from a large network for years. I also know the German market very well and understand the demands and thinking of the international clientele, so it was a priority for me to represent the KENSINGTON brand in my hometown from now on.” Her showroom in the heart of the city will open soon.
The secret of her success: “I love my job and do it every day with the greatest pleasure. There’s no such thing as can’t, that’s what my career as a mother of two in an industry like this has taught me. Be brave, honest and ambitious and believe in your dreams and in your abilities.”
